Data Scientist - Game Analytics
2 years ago
Description
This is an opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist to join a team of seasoned game-makers and their well funded and quickly growing start-up! We operate in a fully remote set up, building on a culture that is based on clarity, empowerment and trust.
We have raised capital from the “who is who” of early stage gaming investors. Our first game blends casual resource management with merge-puzzle mechanics and a light metagame (think: Merge Dragons mechanics translated to the candy crush audience combined with a Klondike: Adventures metagame).
It has been fully validated by upper percentile/benchmark metrics. We are pushing hard but carefully towards a full release, are well funded and our games are seeing increasing commercial traction.
In order to protect everyone’s work life balance we offer fully remote engagement restricted to “CET +/- 1 hour”.
Responsibilities
We now offer an opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our small interdisciplinary team:
- have a strong impact on our product and marketing efforts to grow our game portfolio;
- provide insights via reports, experiments, predictions and dashboards to various stakeholders;
- collaborate with game designers and developers to deliver the best experience to our players;
- use your skills and our large amount of data to model, predict and understand our players’ behavior;
- create assumptions from experience or exploration, run A/B tests and define relevant KPIs to validate them;
- proactively suggest changes and identify opportunities from data observations.
You will have a direct impact on the product. Data Science isn’t considered an external service. On the opposite, it is an integral part of the production team and your decisions will shape the game. You will work as a peer with our Principal Data Scientist. Therefore, as one of the first employees, you will have the opportunity to shape not only how the Data Science department works, but also the future of the company.

Benefits
We create mobile games that are incredibly fun and can be enjoyed by players for a very very long time. Our games blend casual and midcore gameplay mechanics and will be supported with strong social layers, aiming to define a whole new category of perpetual games. We approach development as “data driven artists” who believe that an idea is only good if it works for the players. That’s why we develop in rapid iterative phases, being both passionate and data driven.
We have previously worked for renowned companies (Wooga, King, Good Games, Wargaming, JamCity and Peak Games among others). We have shipped and worked on games that have generated hundreds of millions of euros, including a top 50 grossing game that our co-founder led from inception to release. We also have a couple of failures under our belt which qualify us even further for success.
We have secured investment from some of the most iconic games entrepreneurs including Victor Kislyi, Founder & CEO Wargaming, Riccardo Zacconi, Co-Founder & former CEO King and Sami Lababidi, serial entrepreneur, co-founder & CTO Playfish as well the leading early stage institutional investors Creandum (Spotify, Klarna, iZettle, Small Giant Games) and Initial Capital (Supercell, Space Ape Games).
You will join a small interdisciplinary team of very experienced game professionals covering all aspects of design, art, engineering, business intelligence, user acquisition as well as company leadership. This is a permanent full-time contract. We offer competitive salaries for exceptional candidates, and as an early stage employee you could benefit from a substantial equity package. We also support you with designing and equipping a proper remote work set up.
