Data Science Manager, Two Dots

We need a Data Science Manager who can partner with our Product team to lead customer-centric data science projects on Two Dots to join our diverse, multi-talented team.
We are looking for a passionate Data Science Manager to lead and grow our Data Science team on Two Dots. This role will be responsible for articulating and delivering a transformative Data Science roadmap designed to drive business KPIs, realize operational efficiencies, and bring excitement to Two Dots through personalization. The position requires a mix of Data Science thought leadership, business acumen, hands-on data modeling, and people leadership. You should be an expert on modern analytics and ML and AI development methodologies, tools, and operational processes.
The ideal candidate has a track record of leadership -- inspiring, mentoring, and aligning Data Scientists along with experience growing young teams. You will:
- Be “the voice” and evangelist for Data Science on Two Dots and serve as a bridge between the team and other departments.
- Identify data-driven business opportunities through LiveOps, and gameplay customization while defining the vision for the Data Science team.
- Help foster a positive team culture and best practices to create scalable, well-architected data-driven solutions and models that grow revenue and eliminate inefficiencies
- Drive the vision for Data Science capabilities and operational strategy while continuously evaluating emerging technologies and tooling.
- Cultivate an environment where team members are empowered and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, belonging, and accountability.
- Own delivery of the Data Science roadmap and committed milestones while maintaining high data and analytics quality.
- Foster learning and growth of individuals on the team and their respective careers.
- Conduct performance reviews and regular one-on-ones with your team members.
- Be a company point-of-contact for different technical partners and vendors.
- Continue growing the Data Science team by recruiting high-performing data scientists and analysts.
We are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative field required. Advanced degrees preferred.
- 4+ years experience designing and delivering revenue-impactful ML and analytics for direct-to-consumer global mobile products or businesses with 500K+ DAUs.
- Gaming or mobile retail industry experience is a plus.
- 2+ years experience managing and growing a full-stack Data Science team in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent understanding of modern data warehouses, ML / AI, and cloud computing platforms.
- Experience with AWS SageMaker, Glue, Spark / Databricks is a strong plus.
- Proficient in Python and use of Data Science stack (numpy, pandas, notebooks).
- Experience with ML frameworks and libraries (Scikit, Tensorflow, SparkML).
- Experience with AI / Reinforcement learning is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of how Data Science impacts business KPIs. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate complex technical and data concepts to business users.
- Strong understanding of the analytics and ML development and delivery lifecycle, including the production operations phase.
- Ability to work up and down the stack, from data engineering to ML models and dashboard design.
- Excellent understanding of modern leadership and management principles.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
