DataOps/Data Engineer

Wargaming is looking for a DataOps/Data Engineer to join the Maintenance team, of its Data Warehouse (DWH) unit. In this position, you will help develop and support the data warehouse.

All the DWH units share a common mission—to deliver data that helps the Company make key business decisions.

The Maintenance team operates the existing infrastructure which consists of an Oracle Exadata and Hadoop cluster of 24 nodes with a total capacity of 2 petabytes. The team's responsibilities include the creation of stable data processing pipelines, monitoring the cluster, and troubleshooting issues. You will be required to learn and improve your skills working with the following tools and technologies: Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Kafka, Kudu, and Streamsets.

What will you do?

• Participate in the technical development of the Company's data warehouse
• Select and implement ETL tools
• Develop and support scheduled upload processes
• Develop and optimize internal services for processing large amounts of data
• Develop and support automation processes
• Implement and support industrial solutions for data processing
• Develop solutions for collecting and uploading data sets
• Install releases from development teams
• Process and resolve data related incidents

What are we looking for?

• Experience in writing bash scripts (Linux/FreeBSD)
• Experience in working with relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
• Confident knowledge of SQL
• Understanding of database theory
• Good knowledge of basic concepts and principles of building data warehouses
• Knowledge of one or several ETL/ELT tools: Informatica, CloverETL, Pentaho, or Talend
• Basic knowledge of the DevOps stack: bash, git, CI/CD, and Jenkins

What will help you stand out?

• Experience in developing ETL processes (uploading, transforming, and downloading data in various sources)
• Knowledge of Python programming language
• Experience in working with analytical data warehouses: ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar
• Knowledge of full-cycle data-pipelines development and management systems: Meltano, Airbyte, or similar
• Knowledge of integration systems: Streamsets, Apache NiFi, Singer.io, or similar
• Knowledge of data transformation systems: Dbt, Dataform, or similar
• Experience in working with cloud platforms: Google/AWS/Azure/Yandex
