Data Governance Lead

Overview

This role will be responsible for fostering and maintaining an environment that enhances and promotes compliance with data privacy-related law, policies, and procedures. You will drive the foundation of a culture of data ownership and quality by collaborating with data stewards and establishing roles and accountability in data lineage.

You define strategic priorities for the development of data governance proficiencies that align with ZeniMax Media's data strategy, including architecting a data governance framework that focuses on data quality improvement and the protection and appropriate use of sensitive data. You will work with data engineers and analysts to establish and implement standards in business systems, data integration, and reporting environments.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance and manages the process of identifying risks related to the collection, storage, protection, access, use, and destruction of personally identifiable or sensitive information.
• Coordinates with stakeholders across the enterprise to develop and implement data privacy risk management plans.
• Develops and documents privacy management business processes and socializes these processes to stakeholders.
• Partners with other business units to ensure procedures align with ZeniMax Media's Privacy Policy, in addition to global privacy requirements.
• Investigates potential violations to data privacy, including consumer inquiries and employee access to personally identifiable information.
• Collaborates with ZeniMax Media's Information Security team to investigate potential breach incidents, regulate vendor transmission of personally identifiable information, and assess other information privacy risks to the company.
• Maintain continues knowledge of data privacy best practices and standards.

Data Governance

• Advance the business intelligence organization's creed of data governance best practices, including documenting and promoting the benefits of data governance policies and procedures.
• Define and execute processes to ensure data integrity and quality, and establish data definitions.
• Ensure business and studio adherence to data management policies and standards, with regard to data accuracy, validity, reliability, and relevance.
• Perform data audits, identify collection issues, and coordinate remediation actions.
• Identifies, advocates adoption of, and manages data tools to support data cataloging and lineage, operational efficiency, and compliance and regulation.
• Maintain continues knowledge of data governance best practices and standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data privacy/governance experience.
• Ability to gather, evaluate, and documents tasks needed for actionable workplans, and overseeing projects to completion.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, and other Privacy regulations. This will include the ability to understand how these regulations affect ZeniMax Media and the video game industry.
• Experience managing and conducting vendor due diligence.
• Ability to take direction, and operate autonomously, as needed.
• Competence with communicating with multiple levels of an organization, and tailoring messaging accordingly.
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
