We are looking for a self-starting, creative, driven and results focused Data Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be leading our efforts to build cutting edge in-house business intelligence systems while working with large amounts of data. Responsibilities:
- Design, build and launch extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data across a number of platforms
- Understand business requirements and translate them into the concise development/design tasks
- Use your data and analytics experience to ‘see what’s missing’, identifying and addressing gaps in the existing data pipeline
- Leverage data and business principles to solve large scale web, mobile and data infrastructure problems
- Pull, process, and aggregate data collected from various analytics APIs
- Collaborate with product, engineering (web, client, backend), and analysis teams across the organization to help develop, maintain, and operate our BI systems
- Implement new requests from Product Analysts and Product Managers to fulfill their data needs
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years industry experience and a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
- An excitement to the prospect of writing software that will capture and analyze millions of events in near real time
- Working experience with cloud computing services such as AWS and GCP
- Experience with Relational databasesExperience with NoSQL databases
- Experience working with Caching systems
- Experience with data warehouse systems such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery
- Excellent OOP skills, and a proficiency with SQL, Node.js (and Python is helpful but not required).
- Full stack web development desired (HTML, JS, CSS, Bootstrap, etc).
- Ability to be-self sufficient and execute quickly when given autonomy
- Effective communication with US based teams
Pluses:
- Familiarity with data visualization through Tableau, Looker, or other BI tools
- Knowledge of unit testing
- Advanced knowledge of algorithms
- Dev Ops experience (must be comfortable with unix shell)KISS and DRY design principles
- A passion for games (of any type) as well as a passion for code
- Knowledge of mobile gaming metrics and the mobile gaming industry
