Business Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking for an enthusiastic Data Center Integration Team Manager to be based in our Austin TX or Aliso Viejo CA offices. This position is for an experienced candidate who will lead the Data Center Integration Services team that has responsibility for ensuring our Data Center environments are engineered and run efficiently. The primary responsibilities of this job role are to provide day to day leadership and support of the overall team to ensue all objectives are met. This team is responsible for delivering engineered designs, tooling/automation, vendor management, standardization guidelines and metrics reporting. This position works closely with and provides key support to data center operations, project management and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

The DCIS team manager roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and empower a team, conducting managerial responsibilities such as performance evaluations, employee selection, compensation, and resource planning
  • Develop strategies to meet business strategy goals
  • Help resolve issues that have impact beyond own area of responsibility
  • Ensure crucial procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards and recommended reengineering efforts for continuous improvement
  • Persuade and influence others through communications and diplomacy skills and negotiate with external parties as needed.
  • Provide services by using insights from collaborators/partner relationships, actively seeking information to understand issues, expectations, and needs
  • Creating and maintaining global standards/guidelines for PDU’s, cables, racks, labels etc.
  • Handle power/cooling requirements to meet our DC capabilities for proposed designs
  • Oversight of Creating and publishing designs for the DC ops teams to be able to work from. This will include rack elevations, BOMs, cable/electric connectivity matrix, labeling documentation, and any other supporting information.
  • Vendor Management- Keeping relations with our vendors to manage expectation (lead times/pricing) and future roadmaps. Use vendors to deliver training to our staff.
  • Collaborate with engineers to make sure we have the most up to date tools for asset tracking, power consumption, space management, labeling, etc.…
  • Creating a future forecasting view of the environment.
  • Gathering of metrics that will support our scheduled reporting needs
  • All other duties as assigned

Candidate Qualifications:

  • BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a technology infrastructure role with experience in people and project management and selected infrastructure technologies and tools
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise writing and verbal communications with the ability to communicate technical concepts to an audience
  • Demonstrable ability to develop projects required for design of metrics, analytical tools, benchmarking activities and identification of standard processes
  • Tried analytical, diagnostic, and multitasking skills with focus on execution and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to both work independently and partner with teams in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of various parts of a project/initiative with tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations/requirements
  • Experience and Knowledge of DC cooling systems such as CRAH’s, CRAC’s, Hot and cold isle configurations
  • Experience and knowledge of Data Center infrastructure such as fiber, copper, and optics.
  • High curiosity about technology
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work multi-functionally
  • High energy and a driven desire to positively impact the business and teammates
  • Up to 30% travel required with this position.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$128,100 — $192,100 USD
