Klang is looking for an experienced Data Analyst (f/m/d) who is an effective communicator and can do rigorous, impactful research on behavioral and attitudinal data. If you are passionate about Games User Research, we have an amazing opportunity for you!
You will join a multidisciplinary Insights Team and develop a data structure to capture the experience of a ‘massive multiplayer’ audience. In this role, you will support your quantitative analysis with qualitative research, that you will plan, organise, and execute. Combine your findings to bring the voice of our players to life and make it heard in your robust, concise and actionable KPI & UX reports to the studio leadership.
What you will do
- With the product strategy and continuous analysis in mind, heuristically analyze SEED and review its documentation to identify which data to collect
- Guide the implementation of telemetry to create a coherent and expandable data structure ready for ad-hoc and continuous analysis
- Design and execute research events, using the right methods, in order to feed behavioral and attitudinal data into the data architecture
- Clean up and analyse a variety of data sources and combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to create actionable insights
- Report and debrief your results to a variety of stakeholders, conveying information in a concise and compelling way, tailored to the needs of your audience
- Work with the Insights Team to create a research roadmap and ensure business level performance KPIs are always available to the studio leadership, throughout each of SEEDs development stages
- Design, use and maintain tools supporting the operations of the Insights team, e.g.: Telemetry Dashboards and result repositories, self-reporting of participant data, participant signup and scheduling of research events, participant contact database
Requirements
Who you are:
- BS in data science related fields (Economics, Social Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or BA/BS in human behavior related fields (Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Social Science, Information Science, Interaction Design) with a strong background in statistics
- Minimum 2 years of gaming industry experience
- Proven experience in collecting data with scientific accuracy using various methods (e.g. Telemetry, surveys, self-reported user data, observations & interviews)
- Exceptional analytical skills to create actionable results from a variety of data sources, considering potential biases and the robustness of individual data sources
- Experience in data analysis using code to analyse large datasets
- Experience in data visualisation with Looker (alternatively Tableau or similar)
- Experience with BigQuery, SQL, and Google Analytics or other common data pipeline tools
- Ability to understand and evaluate different user experiences independent from personal taste.
- Knowledge and understanding of video game product development frameworks and lifecycle
