Global Insights is looking for a skilled data analyst to focus on the Battle.net products and features used by millions of gamers worldwide, including the Battle.net desktop and mobile apps, the Shop & Game websites, and more. These sites and applications empower our players to play games, connect with each other, and take part in Blizzard’s epic entertainment experiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with analysts and online product teams to help construct the vision for platform-wide analysis to find compelling and concrete business insights. Comprehensively address high level and detailed strategic questions by clarifying the business question, developing hypotheses, and building analytic structure to address the hypotheses.
• Write effective queries against big data sources that return results accurately, enhance database efficiency, and are ready to scale for the future.
• Leverage tools such as Google Analytics, & Big Query to deliver insights and provide consulting expertise toward standard methodologies and execution.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Managers, Engineers, and analytics partners to deliver business impact, effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, and translate recommendations into efficient action plans for senior management and department leaders.

Requirements

• Analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills, demonstrated by the ability to structure an issue and analyze alternative solutions.
• Curious, internally-motivated self-starter with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to manage multiple projects and achieve results.
• Have the ability to structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, based on large sets of complex data, and effectively present this to any level in the organization with appropriate visualizations.
• Strong quantitative skills with high proficiency in SQL
• Strong familiarity with web and app analytics concepts, conversion optimization, and funnel analysis.
• Familiarity with AB Testing/personalization process including test design, execution, analysis and development of concrete recommendations.
• Adept in at least one visualization tool such as Tableau; R or Python knowledge is a plus

Pluses

• 2+ years of work experience in Gaming, Management Consulting, Data Analytics, Product Analytics, Data Science, or Product Management roles
• BS degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative field
• Experience communicating and advocating with analytical insights to executive-level audiences to inform decision making
• Experience with Google Analytics
• Demonstrated experience with some or all of the following: data modeling, data visualization, statistics, experimental design, predictive modeling
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and big data (such as GCP, BigQuery, Hadoop, Teradata, and/or Azure)
