Data Analyst - Hybrid/Flexible

For 30 years we’ve been creating incredible video games at our multiple studios, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We operate across multiple UK locations, with studios based in Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, and Wakefield. We are on the lookout for a passionate and talented Data Analyst to join our growing Data Team supporting development teams on current and upcoming projects.
You will primarily be responsible for analytics of usage data reported from within Rebellion games., proactively and reactively finding meaningful insights, and providing reports for the developers and designers to improve the overall experience for players.
Although mainly focused on analytics, there will be some elements and opportunities to learn, experiment, and perform data science tasks.
This is a role working in a small team for someone who is interested in games with visibility all the way up to the C-level stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Advocate for the use of data-driven insights to improve Rebellion games.
- Present and explain patterns in data to a wide audience.
- Document, categorise, and disseminate findings to a high quality that can be reused in future projects without the need to do a fresh analysis every time.
- Work with producers and designers across a wide variety of games to ensure we have the correct tools to measure the success of features, game modes, and mechanics.
- Mine, gather, or create custom data sources from industry websites, studies, blogs, or review sites for further analysis of information not immediately available.
- Use Tableau to create charts relevant to the above tasks.
- Use Kibana to quickly answer basic business questions, as well as create and verify custom data sources necessary to do more in-depth analysis.
- Use SQL to filter, join, and rank data to create data sources for use in Tableau, D3, or other analysis/presentation software packages.
- Assist in the creation of a best practices and lessons learned newsletter for major takeaways from the previous analysis.
Requirements
- Solid professional experience working in a comparable role or graduate or certification in an industry-recognised data science program
- Professional experience in the finance or gaming sector is desired
- Strong knowledge of at least three of the following:
- Tableau
- Power BI
- SQL
- D3/Json
- Kibana
- Python/R
- Toad
- Excel
- Data Scraping/Aggregation
- SBSS
- Statistics
- ML
- NLP
