Data Analyst - Accounting

You will work with the Accounting team reporting to the Director of Accounting - Revenue to modify and run SQL queries over large datasets to calculate accounting estimates. This includes getting and understanding of the tables, running existing queries or modifying them to reflect new business activities, and analyzing the results with the accounting team. Python is preferred to help with this process. You will also work with the broader Accounting team to help automate processes, often though an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tool. RPA may involve programming systematic steps, using an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool, and some Excel. Finally, you will work on ad hoc projects, Tableau, or other process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Modify and analyze SQL queries to calculate accounting estimates; these queries are on very large tables
• Automate existing processes using RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools
• Ad hoc projects involving data pulls, Tableau, or process improvements using Python, SQL, or another tool

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience with SQL
• Attention to detail; can do an essential self review of work and analyze results
• Independent; able to work without similar craft professionals nearby
• BA/BS in relevant field from an accredited university

Desired Qualifications:

• Python experience
• Databricks or Hadoop experience
• Interest in RPA and process efficiency
• Proficient with Excel - can perform vlookup/pivot is sufficientExperience with large datasets and analysis of query results
