Customer Deployment Engineer, Defence

The Mission of The Customer Deployment team is to drive successful technical demonstrations of our products to a broad range of customers and high ranking military personnel. We provide forward deployed, “cloud in a box” solutions integrated with industry partners to position the company to be seen as key to the future of military planning and training.
The role of a Customer Deployment Engineer is to provide IT Systems, DevOps, and Systems Administration knowledge at customer sites to ensure the final stages of deployment are a success.
Working closely with our Engineering Velocity and Enablement Team (EVE), you will use cloud platforms and utilise technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible, to solve final integration and configuration issues which ensure successful deployments of our solutions.
You will embody our values and serve as a technical representative of the company at customer locations.
Please note due to the nature of this role you will be expected to meet requirements associated with obtaining UK security vetting clearance

Areas of Impact:
- Support releases for events or exercises by executing deployments as required by governing projects on the cloud or on standalone server hardware.
- Resolve/Assist in resolution of deployment issues by working with the development and tooling teams.
- Build, document and improve deployment processes.
- Manage the installation of portable server hardware within Improbable office or at customer site.
- Plan and manage the requirements such as space, power, cooling, cables and auxiliary hardware so the equipment can be installed and run wherever it is required.
- Performance test the cloud and standalone environments to ensure they scale appropriately under load without a degradation in performance
We’d Like to Hear From you if you Identify with the Following
- Have extensive experience in building and configuring both Physical and Cloud based servers.
- Understand best practices relating to DevOps, TechOps and System administration.
- Commercial experience building and deploying solutions using Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible.
- Are able to script proficiently using Python.
- Are comfortable working alone but also cross functionally with a larger team as and when required.
- The role will require up to 25% domestic travel across various Government sites in the UKAre experience deploying solutions to multiple Cloud based environments - AWS, GCP, Azure.
