Creative Studios Discipline Manager

As the Creative Studios Discipline Manager, you will work with the Sr. Director of Creative Studios and the Publishing Discipline Director to support our staff, managers, and people team partners as we grow and evolve our Publishing organization. You will recruit, teach, coach, and mentor talented teams, with a focus on cultivating a healthy and engaged organization, collaborating closely with our directors, leads, and cross-discipline managers. You will help teams navigate the transitions that come with an evolving organization. You will help inform, implement, and improve our management practices.
While we highly value firsthand craft and technical excellence for this role, your work will primarily focus on people management and organizational health. A growth mindset is going to be your most useful trait, along with empathy and conscientiousness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supply support, coaching, and career development advice to Creative Studio’s high performing team
- Surface problems in your discipline and take the lead on crafting solutions
- Collaborate with Team Leads across Publishing to help your team, and our organization, succeed
- Drive and own People Development-related plans and supporting documents for the Creative Studios organization
- Communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization to improve visibility of our department’s goals and challenges
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring medium to large size teams
- Enthusiasm about developing inclusive, diverse, and equitable organizations
- Proven ability to build relationships, give feedback, and handle difficult conversations in a multidisciplinary environment
- Ability to effectively write and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation and communications
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- An understanding of game development culture
- Experience working in publishing organizations
- Familiarity with one or more creative disciplines
- Interest in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our leadership workflows
