About FWS

Fire Without Smoke is a creative storytelling agency dedicated solely to the games industry. We’re experienced content creators, creatives and first and foremost, passionate gamers. We uncover in-game magic and bring it to a global audience with our storytelling, technology and game expertise. From detective stories to first-person shooters, if it’s in gaming, we’ll have touched it at some point.

We are looking for a full-time Creative Lead who is a collaborative and dedicated creative leader. This is a special opportunity for a forward-thinking creative who has the experience and creative curiosity to join our team and make serious magic. You will be responsible for developing category-defining work that truly connects with gamers. You will have a strong understanding of brands, culture, gamer behaviour and how to leverage this to create insight driven work.

You like to look at the big picture as well as the finer craft details to execute impactful work. You thrive when challenging the client to think differently, and are in your element when creating work that no-one can stop talking about. Working as a lone ranger and collaborating with other members of the team you will own projects from briefing to delivery, working into our Creative leadership. You will define, craft and execute award winning work across all channels. This role is firmly rooted in the gaming sphere, so a vested interest surrounding this world is a must!

Day to day, you’ll be:

• Creating impactful ideas and executing them brilliantly across multiple channels
• Rallying people around an idea and selling the vision to internal and external stakeholders
• Define and craft channel specific work across digital, TV, Print, Social, Events, OOH
• Write scripts, craft copy and lead art direction to execute ideas in the most impactful way
• Lead and oversee the creative direction of pitches and client proposals
• Build strong and trusting relationships with clients and internal team members
• Rally and inspire the Studio to produce the best possible game content

Requirements

You are:

• An enthusiastic gamer, and have in-depth understanding of gaming and contemporary gaming culture
• Confident in your experience in concepting, creating, crafting brilliant work for gaming brands
• Leading a team toward a vision to create inspiring
• In your zone leading, inspiring and challenging our creatives of all levels to get the best out of them and any given brief.
• Able to dissect, analyse and challenge a brief, to create a clear point of view and direction for the creative process and, for the creatives.
• Comfortable leading and creating great work, and have proven experience of this for the games industry
• Able to speak our clients’ language consistently, to build long-term working relationships

You’ll need:

• 5+ years working as creative at a creative gaming agency
• A proven and consistent gaming creative track record
• Exceptional portfolio of work across all channels, from social to bigger integrated campaigns
• Exceptional concept and craft abilities
• Exceptional script writer
• Exceptional integrated thinking
• Brilliant communicator and presenter
• Deep knowledge of the video games industry and culture
• A love and knowledge of creative industries - film, music, literature
