Course Unreal Engine 4 – Wargaming Forge Kyiv

We invite talented beginner developers and Tech Artists up to 1 year of experience in gamedev who are interested in gamedev and in working with Unreal Engine 4. Prove your mettle and become part of the Wargaming global team.

The course is based on Epic Games-certified materials from the Educator Resources program. After completing the training, you'll be able to create your own game in any genre.

Course mentor

Aleksandr Savchukov, Technical Director.

14+ years in the IT industry: design, analysis, development, and product implementation. 12+ years in gamedev. Worked on the iconic World of Tanks game, took part in the development of Prime World: Defenders. Currently holds the position of Technical Director on a new unannounced Wargaming project on UE4.

Dive into a rich educational program: lectures, practical tasks, and the final project — a game prototype. You will receive regular feedback from an expert and recommendations for further progress.

Course content

1. INTRODUCTION TO UNREAL ENGINE 4
   You'll get acquainted with Unreal Engine 4 technology, the editor interface, and its capabilities.
2. INTRODUCTION TO GAME PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
   You'll learn to add content to the project, design levels, program artificial intelligence, create user interfaces, and script game logic both in Blueprints and C++.
3. PRACTICAL OPTIMIZATION TIPS
   You'll learn about methods for game logic optimization and debugging by examples based on real development experience.
4. FINAL PROJECT
   And finally, a final project where you'll create your own small game prototype to consolidate the acquired knowledge.

1. Knowledge of the basics of developing computer applications and/or games
2. An understanding of the architecture and fundamentals of computer technology
3. Knowledge of English sufficient for reading technical documentation
4. A strong sense of responsibility and a broad knowledge base

Start and end dates for enrollment: March 9 – March 25.

Workload: up to 8 hours per week.

Period and format of training: the end of April — May, online training.

The course takes place: twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) evening hours.
