Your Mission
We’re looking for a Counsel to join Activision Blizzard. Working with our Employment Legal team for the U.S. and Canada and reporting to the Senior Director, Employment, you’ll provide strategic advice and legal counsel regarding a broad range of employment law issues. Working from our Santa Monica, CA headquarters or remotely, you will partner closely with colleagues in legal and other cross-functional departments too.
- Join a team of employment counsel providing legal support and counseling for key partners across a broad range of employment issues in the US and Canada.
- Provide counseling, advice, and day-to-day support for Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Compliance for the United States and Canada.
- Provide legal guidelines and support regarding the company’s contingent workforce and agency workers.
- Provide legal guidelines and support regarding the company’s enterprise wide talent and performance management.
- Deliver employment legal advice for Canadian employees.
- Draft and revise employment-related separation agreements.
- Provide additional legal support for diversity, equality, and inclusion initiatives, performance management and terminations, restructurings, wage and hour, and other employment topics as needed.
- Develop, update, and implement employment related policies to ensure standard processes and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance for successful execution of company initiatives.
Player Profile
- J.D. from a nationally recognized law school
- Membership in at least one state bar (CA preferred)
- 5+ years of proven experience practicing California and federal employment law, including counseling and litigation experience
- Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Analytical skills with demonstrated critical thinking and risk analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Great business judgment with a dedication to teamwork, integrity, and collegiality
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and willing to approach legal challenges with an entrepreneurial mentality
