Primary Functions
Linden Lab is looking for an experienced paralegal to support the company’s exciting growth as the leader in payments for virtual worlds and in-world economies. Your mission-critical contributions will further the company’s exciting growth as the leader in payments for virtual worlds and in-world economies.
Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day management of corporate governance and due diligence matters, which may include but is not limited to, preparing and maintaining certain regulatory filings, preparing and maintaining corporate entity records and entity organization charts, and preparing and maintaining any other required documentation for money services business (MSB)/money transmitter (MT) annual renewals and related reporting requirements.
- Work closely with finance, legal, and compliance teams and outside counsel for corporate governance and due diligence matters, which may include but is not limited to, matters pertaining to MSBs/MTs and responding to inquiries from and periodic examinations by regulatory agencies.
- Assist with coordination and preparation for state and federal regulatory exams and audits.
- Develop, organize, and oversee contract management and corporate records systems.
- Process and manage subpoenas and information requests, including collection of requested documents and preparation of responses.
- Draft and review form consulting, non-disclosure and license agreements.
- Conduct legal, regulatory, and factual research.
- Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.

- Familiarity with reporting requirements pertaining to MSBs/MTs (a plus).
- Ability to multitask and reorder priorities.
- Work well under pressure, independently, and on a team.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communications skills.
- Flexibility and ability to proactively assume responsibility and adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with regulatory requirements of licensed money transmitters, including applying for licenses, renewals, filing reports.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic training experience.
- Paralegal certificate (a plus).
Experience
- 5+ years at a law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Experience with NMLS a plus
