Corporate Development / M&A Associate

Job Purpose:
As our new Corporate Development / M&A Associate you will report to the Director Corporate Development, and will primarily work on the ongoing development and execution of Jagex’s M&A strategy and inorganic growth plan. The Corporate Development / M&A Associate will support the acquisition process end-to-end, from pipeline to deal execution and post-merger integration.

Key Duties Include:
- Support with maintenance of the M&A pipeline.
- Assist with the performance of initial analysis on targets and drafting of preliminary assessment reports.
- Creating detailed (3-statement) financial models, valuation exercises and return sensitivity analysis on M&A targets for discussion and inclusion in reports.
- Support drafting comprehensive Investment Papers on M&A targets for presentation to the Management Board for each acquisition.
- Review and analyse third-party due diligence reports.
- Coordinating with third-party advisers on transactional matters, including setting up and managing internal calls and meetings, produce minutes, actions and follow-up on stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional coordination with internal departments to support transaction execution.
- Support with maintenance of the M&A pipeline.
- Maintains M&A templates, market scans and valuation trends.
- Creating reports on an ad-hoc basis and at the discretion of the M&A leadership.
- Effectively coordinating and managing multiple due diligence and closing assignments as well as prioritising tasks.
Requirements:
- Relevant undergraduate degree e.g. Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics, Economics.
- Experience in transaction services, investment banking, private equity, corporate development.
- End-to-end experience in M&A process is essential
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and competent in the use of software products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint – excellent financial modelling capability.
- Strategic thinking individual with structured and target oriented approach.
- Commercial mind-set; problem solver with a “can do” attitude.
Desirable Skills
- ACA/ACCA/CFA qualified – or working toward
- An interest/ some understanding of the interactive entertainment industry and video games businesses
Other Important Information:
Jagex operates a remote working policy and this role can be performed on a remote basis as long as the place of work is within the UK.
