Led by Dead Space and Call of Duty franchise veteran Glen Schofield, a new AAA development studio has risen within the San Ramon Hills of the San Francisco Bay Area. We have planted roots in beautiful Bishop Ranch and are now building our flagship state-of-the-art development studio establishing the East Bay as the new up and coming creative and technological hub we know it to be.
LED BY DEAD SPACE AND CALL OF DUTY FRANCHISE VETERAN GLEN SCHOFIELD, the development team at Striking Distance Studios is hard at work on its first game, The Callisto Protocol, a single player and story-driven survival horror game set in a prison colony on Jupiter’s moon Callisto. Responsibilities:
- Assist in implement system-level and gameplay-supporting systems
- Optimize game code and systems
- Collaborate with technology director/architect on technical design and feature roll out
- Work across disciplines in maintenance, optimization, or refactoring of systems and pipelines
- Coordinate with leads to ensure smooth roll out of new features
- Create and maintain technical design documents
Qualifications:
- 3+ years C++ programming experience
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working on a PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One game
- Programming experience in multi-threaded or asynchronous workloads
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Understanding of measurement and analysis of systems in term of speed and resource usage
- Knowledge in 3D math
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to be self-directed, focused, and detail-oriented
- Experience with technical requirement certification (Sony, Microsoft, etc.) preferred
