At Blizzard Entertainment Copywriters are the storytellers that craft words and narratives to bring ideas to life. They are problem solvers and approach every project with rational and innovative mindsets. Together in collaboration with Design Leads they bring our franchises into fresh creative territories and craft excellent original content. They care for proper spelling and grammar, but most of all, they care for the players, and will always speak to them in a way that rings true to the core of our games.

On any given day you might

• Craft reactive copy for use on social media channels
• Brainstorm & develop ideas for upcoming social content
• Build brands and craft stories through campaign-level thinking and execution – whether through Digital, PR, Film, Print, Radio, Outdoor or Activation

• Envision and create the tone and personality of a brand/campaign
• Write scripts, social short stories, presentations, case studies, taglines and name studies
• Collaborate across the department with multiple disciplines to create the best possible execution

Your Mission

This role works closely with all engaged departments: Development Studios, Social, Global Marketing, Broadcast and Publishing to lead design and creative asset production.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience writing for marketing with a heavy emphasis on social content
• Up to date on social media trends, associated media requirements and best practices
• Strong knowledge of the Warcraft franchise (particularly World of Warcraft)
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to apply Blizzard brand values on a wide variety of projects
• Detail-oriented with a good eye for overall output
• An interest in cultivating strong creative skills
• Is a fresh thinker who embraces challenges and new methods of solving problems
• Is self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong communications skills
