WHAT WE DO
Quixel’s mission is to scan the world using proprietary scanning technologies and build an exhaustive ecosystem empowering graphics artists working in films, games, or visualization, to create hyper-realistic or stylized 3D worlds and elements with the world’s largest scan library.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
We’re looking for an experienced Vegetation Artist with knowledge in 3D vegetation modeling to join the Assets Production team. Potential applicants will need to submit a show-reel or images/videos of their work for appraisal.
In This Role You Will
- Use a combination of 3D modeling, sculpting and digital painting skills to process vegetation scans and create 3D vegetation assets
- Collaborate with the other team members to provide feedback and quality assurance on their assets
- Provide continuous feedback on the usage of the Quixel tools to help the Pipeline Development team for the improvement of the tools
- Maintain production deadlines and/or communicate any scheduling concerns with the team
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in Photoshop
- Proficiency in 3D modeling (any 3D software)
- Proficiency in UV and Texturing
- Passion for creating 3D vegetation
- Proven skills in creating all types of Real-time vegetation models
- Several years of experience
- You have experienced at least two full development cycles for a game project (experience with an open-world game is a plus) as an (Vegetation) Artist
- You have a great artistic eye and understand form, composition, color, light and detail
- Basic to intermediate shader coding / shader creation knowledge
- Experience with real time optimization & common industry practices
Nice To Have Skills
- Proficiency in Zbrush
- Proficiency in Houdini
- Proficiency 3ds Max and GrowFX
- Leadership experience in AAA environment
Soft skills
- Proactive and good problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently, without constant oversight
- Reliability and consistency with tasks
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, evaluate feedback and art direction on a professional level
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fluency in English is a must
