About the role

As the Controller, you will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team in driving key processes and visibility for the Company. You will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day and month end accounting, reporting and associated control processes to ensure the leadership team has the building blocks to make strategic business decisions. We are looking for an experienced leader who is not afraid to get involved in the nitty gritty, excited to work in a fast-paced start up environment and can bring a positive attitude.

What you will do

Day-to-Day, Month-End Accounting

• Manage day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes and generate monthly financial statements
• Prepare monthly financial reports for the management team as well as monthly reports to outside stakeholders as necessary
• Support the accounting team in the identification and resolution of day to day issues involving systems and controls, accounting and tax
• Manage all aspects of income, payroll and sales tax reporting obligations and processes
• Ad-hoc tasks as required by business needs

Leadership

• Mentor and develop members of the accounting department
• Culture-additive influence

Budgeting and Cash Flow

• Assist in the annual budget and forecast process as well as monthly variance to budget tracking processes
• Provide support as necessary in managing cash flow requirements and identify all corporate cash flow requirements within a 13 week rolling period
• Help identify and implement cost control and tracking mechanisms

Ad-Hoc Responsibilities

• Assist the VP Finance in investor relations related tasks
• Ad-hoc reports as required by functional business partners
• Liaise with external accounting partners as necessary

Requirements

• Previous 2+ year experience as a controller or equivalent position
• Strong accounting technical knowlege in all areas of GAAP and consolidation accounting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate accounting concepts to practical business implications
• Advanced computer skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid understanding of corporate income and sales tax
• CPA designation
• Previous start-up experience a plus
• Experience in using NetSuite accounting system (preferred)

Benefits

The annual compensation range for this position is $170,000-$190,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.

Benefits offered for this position include 90% employer-paid healthcare for employee and dependents (medical, dental, vision); 401K with 50% employer match (up to 4%); open PTO policy; 16-week parental leave; basic life insurance, AD&D, and short-term disability.
