Controller

The Controller will be instrumental in overseeing the financial accounting organization to support the growth of the company including revenue recognition, financial reporting, and analysis. We seek a self-motivated, high-energy individual to contribute to the success of the great finance team. The Controller will oversee the Accounting and External Reporting functions reporting to the President of KIXEYE.
The role and responsibilities include:
- Provide strong hands on leadership, mentorship and coaching to direct reports and the accounting team
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounting department including review of daily journal entries and monthly reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
- Timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual close process on business day 1
- Responsible for technical accounting areas including equity accounting and revenue recognition
- Play our games to assist in assessing our revenue recognition policy
- Responsible for external reporting such as a quarterly investor package
- Lead the external annual financial audits, periodic bank audits and any other statutory audits
- Managing other projects as needed (e.g. system implementations / upgrades)
- Work collaboratively with business and finance partners to determine and provide the necessary reporting and support for these transactions.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
- Big 4, CPA or CA highly preferred
- 12+ years of experience with at least 5 years as a manager
- Strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills in a dynamic environment
- Continuous improvement attitude; ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices
- Strong analytical skills are required as is the ability to research issues, prepare evaluations on problems and recommend viable solutions
- Extensive experience in ERPs such as NetSuite and other finance systems such as Solium (Shareworks), ADP, and Certify and proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience in SEC filings such as 10-K/Qs a plus
- Candidate must love getting 'hands dirty', have a strong work ethic, excel in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities
