Contract Motion Capture Technician

Bungie is looking for a Motion Capture Technician to bring high quality, human performances into the digital realm. As a Motion Capture Technician, you will help with shoots and ensure quality performance data is delivered to the team. From characterizing assets to data solving, your efforts will ensure the teams have the content they need for success.
Estimated Duration: 9 Months
With the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, most positions at Bungie are expected to onboard and work from home for a significant portion of 2021. In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in WA/CA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in CA or WA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA or WA will need to establish WA state residency within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Post processing data which includes tracking, solving and retargeting
- Prepare game characters for motion capture shoots and processing
- Support teammates during WFH shoots
- Offer guidance and support to the animators, resolving day-to-day pipeline issues
- Provide upkeep and data entries into our motion capture library (Shotgun)
- Author and maintain technical documents spanning the full Motion Capture process
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Computer Animation degree or equivalent experience in video game and/or film industry
- Thorough knowledge of Motion Builder and Maya
- Knowledge with motion capture data cleanup and implementation
- Understanding of animation and rigging principals
- Self-motivated, quick learner, great communication skills and problem solver
- Proficient in documenting workflows and pipelines
- The desire to create great games
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Familiar with MVN and Shogun
- Timecode (how to sync audio, video and mocap data)
- Knowledge of hand and facial capture practices
- Python, HSL or other scripting languages
