Content Marketing Strategist

As a Content Marketing Strategist for Guild Wars 2, you will help strategize and execute community, social, and content marketing initiatives. You will assist in managing our relationship with our player communities through writing, editing, and publishing content for a variety of communications channels, including websites, forums, and social media channels.
In this role you will:
- With the team and as assigned: help develop community, content marketing, and social media strategies across multiple channels to inform, inspire, educate, and entertain fans and potential customers
- Help bring strategies to reality through the entire process: from ideation to campaign execution
- Write and edit on-brand messaging about the company and its products in a consistent voice, optimized for the given communications channel: web, social, forums
- Manage the website publishing pipeline, including scheduling, review loops, localization, content entry, content encoding, and content publishing
- Manage, moderate, and engage on Guild Wars 2 and ArenaNet owned communication channels, including social media and forums
- Monitor key communications channels in support of the live game service and report and escalate issues to internal teams as needed
- Surface player feedback about product issues and concerns, becoming a voice and advocate of the player with internal stakeholders
- Work with cross-functional marketing groups to promote and support game releases
- Analyze and report on community, social media, content marketing activities, campaigns, and sentiment
- Execute and manage live events, promotions, and campaigns
- As required, travel domestically and globally (when it is safe)
What we’re looking for:
- 4 - 8 years' experience working in video game community management and social media management roles
- A deep knowledge and understanding of Guild Wars 2 and the community that plays the game
- A strong understanding of our brands and the ability to create content that is consistent with brand standards
- Exemplary writing skills, especially when it comes to producing copy that resonates with passionate fan communities
- Superb attention to detail with excellent organizational, project management, and coordination skills
- A deep understanding and working knowledge of major and emerging social media networks, communities, practices, culture, KPIs, and tools—including what kind of content performs best on each channel
- Strong analytical mindset with a deep understanding of social media analytics reporting, including hands-on experience with creating reports from social listening tools such as Brandwatch
- Strong experience and high degree of comfort working with and publishing content to CMS platforms (such as WordPress and Umbraco), social media publishing platforms (such as Emplifi), promotional platforms (such as Gleam.io), and community platforms (such as Invision forums)
- The ability to make effective and sound communications decisions based on a clear understanding of broader strategic business implications
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with the flexibility to switch focus and priorities to meet the demands of business goals
- Flexibility and drive to meet long term deadlines while still taking care of unexpected high priority issues as they come up
- Self-motivated, strong bias for action, and able to work with minimal direct supervision
- A “do-er”—someone who rolls up their sleeves and is driven to get the job done
- Passion for community engagement and player communications
- Good judgment: able to operate in a professional manner on public communications channels, whatever the current community sentiment

We are currently working remotely from home. When it is safe, this position will be based in Bellevue, Washington and is expected to be a hybrid role.
