Social Marketing, Firaxis Intern

WHO WE ARE:

2K publishes some of the most popular video game franchises on the planet, including Borderlands, BioShock, Mafia, NBA 2K, WWE 2K, Evolve, XCOM, and Sid Meier's Civilization. The Brand Marketing Team is comprised of experienced, award-winning marketing and brand professionals working together and across the company to create innovative campaigns for 2K's latest games.

WHAT WE NEED:

2K is looking for a Social Marketing Intern to join our Firaxis Marketing team to help foster better social marketing and community building engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Marketing for Firaxis, the ideal candidate will know how to live their in single image moments or 144 characters and has a knack for what ‘good social’ means.

As a social marketing enthusiast, you will understand how to properly drive engagement through social posts and will be able to come to the table with a detailed knowledge base of best practices from other people/companies with some good insights that can be shared with the team.

Bonus points if you also have experience playing Civilization and/or XCOM.

This is an exciting time for the Firaxis marketing team, and you will be key to the future growth of some of gaming’s biggest franchises including: Civilization, XCOM….and some new, unannounced blockbusters.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

In this role, you will be part of the Firaxis Social Marketing team and will be helping establish the social guidelines and best practices for an unannounced, major IP launch for Firaxis. You will also be asked to analyze and audit our current social channels and help the team identify ways to further enhance and improve our social channels in addition to helping define a channel strategy, so we do not post the same content on all the channels.

WHO WE THINK WILL BE A GREAT FIT:

• You are enrolled in either a college or university at the time of the internship
• You are passionate and likes to collaborate with others and come up to refreshing ideas!
• Knowledge of Civilization, XCOM, and 2K is a plus
• Must have an innate knowledge and experience of social media (priority to Redditt, Twitter, YouTube)
• You are studying marketing, business, communications, or a related field
• You can aggregate, synthesize, and analyze data
• You are organized
• You are willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done
