Mission

CMK department is a cross-organization department. Its role is to help Ubisoft teams (production, business, supports…) feed and build their decision making process through their consumer and market expertise and their research protocols.

In order to ensure reliability and relevancy of their studies, CMK team relies on several types of expertise: data science, ethnographic studies, market analyses, workshop animation, forecasts….It is the only department at Ubisoft that covers all these skills under one umbrella.

As part of the Consumer & Market Knowledge (CMK) group, the Senior CMK manager will provide in-depth insights into consumers and the market to accompany Ubisoft strategy on the Chinese market specifically.

This incumbent will also help local and global Ubisoft teams take informed decisions and the development of brands and products on the Chinese market and be a point of contact for CMK teams in Shanghai and Paris.

Key roles and responsibilities

Mission: Help local and global Ubisoft teams take informed decisions and the development of brands and products on the Chinese market

Responsibilities:

· Build up the Ubisoft consumer and market expertise about China

- Lead or accompany the production of all studies, researches and data analysis about Chinese market and Ubisoft games and competition

- Identify market strategy, business, marketing and game design best practices and patterns

- Identify cross-Ubisoft game tracking/behavioral patterns and learning

- Track, on a very regular basis, gaming and entertainment trends

- Identify new business opportunities/weak signals in the region

- Whenever relevant, capitalize on the internal CMK resources to propose innovative, timing- and cost-efficient solutions for the different studios

· Collaborate with game development, business and CMK teams to convey these learnings and accompany brand/game/services projects in their Chinese market strategy

· Contribute to consumer knowledge diffusion within the studio, feed and inspire the studio teams’ thinking with market and consumer studies

· Identify local market research partners for CMK local and global teams

Qualifications

Relevant experience:

· Solid (7 years plus) experience in the Entertainment/Media sector

· Strong knowledge of Chinese gaming industry is a prerequisite

· Imperative project management experience with significant experience in quantitative, qualitative consumer and market research, insight focus as well as consulting and planning of strategic initiatives

Education:

· MBA/Master’s in marketing, social science, statistic or equivalent

Skills:

· Has combination of expertise: market researches and consumer studies

· Strong ability and willingness to work effectively in a multicultural team environment

· Strong ability to work independently

· Has a proven track of insight-driven work and actionability in large companies’ organization and strategy

· Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese

Knowledge:

· Knowledge of the client side of the consumer market insight and analysis process

· Big data-savvy and know various data analysis methods and how to test hypotheses along with a solid knowledge of advanced statistical methodology

· Knowledge of SPSS or similar

· Extensive knowledge of transferring the insights into actionable points

· Strong interest in video games and its industry is a prerequisite
