Summary
The Pixel United (Big Fish Games, Product Madness, Plarium) Consumer Insights team is looking for a passionate Manager of Consumer Insights to distill complex problems into insights that informs both the development of new games and the overall engagement of current games.
Reporting into the Senior Director of Consumer Insights (based in SF), you’ll work directly with the executive team, studio GM’s, Product Managers, Marketing & UA, Business Performance & Operations and our Digital Insights org to own and execute the research roadmap for a number of mobile games.
Being passionate about gaming is a bonus and having experience with RPG & strategy games is a BONUS.Pay Range
$89,100-$165,471What you'll do
- Become an expert in the games & genres you’re supporting, including understanding relevant industry trends and key competitors
- Drive the “consumer learning” agenda across several teams, including Product, Growth (Marketing/Creative/UA), Design, Business Analytics & others
- Manage & own all aspects of research projects, from recommending appropriate methodologies to identifying suppliers, from writing questionnaires to presenting all insighs
- While this is mainly a “market research” role, there could be larger scale UX research projects you’ll also oversee
- Partner not just with the Consumer Insights team you’re part of, but also our sister Competitive Intelligence & Product Insights (Game Economies & Data Science) teams to deliver a full view of actionable consumer insights for your stakeholders
- Infuse the voice of the consumer into every aspect of the studios you’re supporting to inspire change through actionable storytelling and digestible consumer findings
What we're looking for
- Roughly 5 years of experience with both quantitative and qualitative market research, from large scale segmentation studies to quick-turn concept research, from focus groups to in-depth interviews…AND/OR a strong desire to learn from some of the above methodologies
- A passion for gaming! And if you work or worked in the mobile gaming space that’s even better
- As noted above, any knowledge or experience within Role Playing Games or Strategy Games or Tower Defense games or related genres is a huge plus for this role!
- The ability to manage multiple projects (we always have a lot going on!!) & the ability to look across studies to synthesize and point out common threads
- Being comfortable with an extremely fast-paced, quick-turn (and fun!) environment
- The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, keep organized, and multitask
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate concepts clearly and persuasively to your stakeholders
- Being comfortable or willing to learn to be comfortable with all things “data”, especially pulling behavioral data and combining it with attitudinal data
- Bonus points if you have experience with statistical tools like SPSS or SAS
- Maintaining a mindset of continuous improvement in research techniques and methodologies, and identifying tools / vendors / technology to increase the effectiveness of everything we do
