Console Game Programmer

As with most roles at PlayEveryWare, you'll be critical to the success of numerous high profile game projects and working alongside both indie and AAA development teams. No two projects are ever alike, each bringing exciting new challenges that will utilize your experience and leverage your ability to learn and adapt. Our focus on current and next generation consoles provides an opportunity to work on cutting edge technology.
This opportunity is for a full-time position in either Seattle, WA, USA or Yokohama, Japan.
Console Game Programmer
This is a mid-level role with an opportunity for you to take ownership of many features and systems and rapidly expand your portfolio in terms of projects and areas of expertise. You should be ready to face problems you haven't seen before, and maybe some that few others have either. If you are comfortable learning new technologies and codebases, and have strong detective and communication skills, we think you may be a great candidate for this role.
What You Will Do:
- Implement new features or systems into existing projects, particularly low level subsystems for new platforms
- Work with our engineering and QA teams to isolate and fix bugs that are unique to platforms
- Write and maintain production-quality code in C, C++, and C#, following good coding standards, particularly for multiplatform development
- Coordinate with engineering teammates and leaders on tasks, blockers, and bug-fixes
- Diagnose issues in code
- Ensure projects adhere to platform compliance requirements
What You'll Bring:
- BA/BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of C/C++, and some experience with C#
- 2+ years of experience at a game studio
- Experience with version control with Perforce and Git
- Excellent debugging skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to work on a variety of projects with unique issues and requirements
- Experience using game development frameworks and middleware
Nice to Have:
- Experience shipping a professional title as a programmer
- Experience working in Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unity
- Development experience on at least one game console
- Seeing yourself and others succeed and grow is important to you
- Ability to work in a wide variety of existing codebases with exemplary code comprehension
