Job Description
Reporting to the CG Animation and Image Supervisors and assisted with a coordinator, the Assembly Supervisor is responsible for several departments linking Previz, Anim, Crowd, CFX, FX and Lighting. He is responsible for ensuring technical compliance of scenes with the pipeline and resolving related issues.
He participates in the definition of the hiring needs and in the candidate selection process. In collaboration with the lead(s), he ensures the training, development and well-being of his team. As a real driving force and a leader, he inspires and motivates his artists to achieve their objectives and deliver high quality work in a collaborative team spirit.
He plays a central role in ensuring that Mikros Animation continues to create first-class animation films.
Responsibilities
· Day to day follow up of the team and work delivery
· Responsible for the technical delivery of the shots (check) to the following departments
· Analysis of the breakdown of the Prod / CG sup Assistant
· Elaboration of Bid & Assignment
· Follow-up of notes and tickets
· Cross-functional team meetings
· Teams recruitment
Assembly/Confo Layout
· Management: Lead and team
· Inter-departmental communication: previz / modeling / CG sups
· Launches: launch previz
· Checker assets (cameras, tanks, env...)
· Review CG sup Anim
· Scene delivery for the anim
· Softs: maya
Assembly/Confo Anim
· Management: Lead and team
· Com inter-department: anim / modeling / tech anim / Crowd / CFX / FX / CG sups
· Check shots (cameras, tanks, env...)
· Review with lead Anim and CG sup Anim/Env
· Scenes delivery for FX/Crowd/FSD/CFX
· Softs: maya and katana
Assembly/Confo Render
· Management: Lead and team
· Com inter-department: tech anim / surfacing / FX / CFX / Crowd / CG sup Image
· Work: Ingest deliveries from all departments shots and deliveries to lighting
· Review: with CG sups and Sup
· Softs: katana
Qualifications
· At least 4 years of experience in VFX or animation industry
· At least 2 years of experience as Lead in the animation industry
· In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Maya software usage (references, caches, topology, complex scenes management, scattering systems)
Assets:
· Knowledge of Katana
· Programming knowledge (Python)
· Fluent English and French
