- Create thumbnail designs, sketches and paintings to define the look and feel of our games.
- Support other artists in making amazing graphics by providing visual solutions that can be used as a guide, such as model reference sheets, design call-outs, and paint-overs that help them overcome problems and roadblocks.
- Create additional art for our games, such as small or full-screen illustration and occasionally help with marketing materials.
Requirements:
- Several years experience creating concept art to a high standard with focus on environment and/or prop design
- A portfolio showing varied subject matter, with multiple treatments of the same visual theme in the form of thumbnails, sketches, and/or paintings.
- Strong artistic fundamentals in shape, form, rendering, texture and composition.
- Able to visualize concepts from all angles, including creating orthographic views for 3D artists and detailed sketches/paintovers for assets.
- Basic 3D skills used to support your concept art, such as creating blockmesh layouts for environment art.
- A strong communicator, able to contextualize decisions on gameplay and art direction requirements to all disciplines.
- Able to provide feedback in a positive, supportive manner to all.
Desirable:
- Basic experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity to independently gather reference for supporting materials
- Advanced 3D skills, such as prop modelling and/or 3D sculpting experience applied to concept art.
- Graphic Design experience as applied to games
