Toys for Bob is a tight knit team of kind and friendly developers who enjoy
collaborating to make games that inspire joy for millions of players. We have a wide range of experience developing for many different game genres, styles, audiences, tools, and platforms for AAA franchises, like Crash Bandicoot, Call of Duty,
Overwatch, Spyro, Skylanders, Tony Hawk, just to name a few. As a concept artist
you will have a strong voice in developing the visual direction of the project.

We are an Activision/Blizzard game studio that's part of Fortune's "100 Best
Companies to Work For." We are located in Novato, California, in a former Air Force
hangar, that's been converted into a colorful, dog-friendly paradise, just 20 minutes

Your Mission

- Work closely with the Concept Art Lead, Art Director, and the art and design staff
establishing and maintaining visual solutions that enhance gameplay and support
the project's art direction and narrative.
- Create concepts for all stages of production. This may include: loose sketches,
high level paintings, gameplay paint-overs, and marketing assets.
- Produce environment, prop, and character designs.
- Turn around quick ideation sketches.
- Create both photo-realistic and stylized concepts as dictated by the project.
- Learn and play the game, making sure concept designs are informed and well-
researched.
- Research subject matter relating to objectives to ensure an authentic experience.

Player Profile

- A strong foundation in traditional art, color theory, composition, perspective,

anatomy, and lighting.

- Expertise in Photoshop.

- Must be self motivated and eager to work in a team environment.

- Dedication to advancing your craft, and eager to learn new techniques and

software.

- Understand the concept art pipeline from the ideation stage to the final rendered

image.

- Understand the limitations of the game development pipeline.

- Excellent communication skills with multiple departments and different

personalities, attention to detail, proactive in resolving problems.

- Ability to take direction and feedback from the team as well as contributing your

own ideas.

- 3+ years of experience creating high-quality 2D art, concepts, with at least 1

shipped AAA PC or console title.

- Knowledge of 3d applications like Blender, Maya, Zbrush, Sketch-up is a plus!
