Character and Equipment Concept Artist – HYENAS (FPS)

Creative Assembly is looking for a talented Concept Artist to join our FPS team to work on HYENAS, our exciting new shooter. This role will be based at one of our studios in Horsham, West Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and accomplished character and equipment Concept Artist to join the team, helping to shape our universe.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be working primarily with the character Leads and production artists to develop exciting content in our game.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Be proactive, collaborating closely with the concept team, writers, production artists, and designers, graining the information required to deliver great visual designs
- Research and develop ideas, with quick iteration cycles, adapting and developing your designs where necessary
- Build on existing character work, supplying concept imagery for cosmetics and other character related content.
The goal is to provide concept imagery, which services both design and production art, while satisfying the game vision and art direction.Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates a solid grasp of visual design
- A flare for character and costume design
- A good understanding of anatomy
- An understanding of material details and construction methods
- Strong sketching skills and demonstrable design iteration
- Good knowledge of composition, colour, and lighting
- Self-driven attitude and the ability to receive and provide clear feedback
- A Team player with good communication skills, and a positive outlook.
Desirable
- Photo-bashing skills
- Traditional media Art skills
- Proficiency with 3D modelling or sculpting packages
- Story boarding skills
- Experience working in games
