Treyarch is looking for a talented and passionate Concept Art Specialist who has expert level artistic sensibilities and wants to work on our current and future projects, while working alongside a team of world-class artists who have created one of the most successful videogame franchises of all time.
Our ideal candidate is an excellent problem-solver, and an effective communicator and is excited about creating immersive environments. They should have expert understanding of architecture, natural environments, exterior/interior lighting, set design, prop design and graphics creation. Beyond creating inspiring artwork, as a Concept Art Specialist, you will be helping to define a high visual bar while guiding and mentoring our current team through sharing your ideas, techniques, and expertise. What you’ll do…
- Assist and define the artistic vision of the game by creating inspirational artwork at an expert level and lead the way for setting a high visual bar.
- Gather, organize reference, and create designs from initial sketches to final concepts.
- Paint-over game renders and screenshots in Photoshop.
- Create redline notes for architecture, natural environments, FX, props, taking game to a higher visual fidelity.
- Draw storyboards which will illustrate the character/camera movement, FX animations and visual FX.
- Spearhead high profile ground breaking technical concept art processes.
- Actively contribute to the growth of the studio through mentoring and teaching other artists.
To succeed you should have…
- 8+ years’ experience in AAA game development with at least 3 shipped titles.
- Expert knowledge of Photoshop.
- Expert use of 3D programs Blender, Modo, etc.
- Understanding of traditional artistic skills, composition, rendering, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, and graphic design.
- Solid drawing fundamentals, along with digital painting and rendering techniques.
- Expert ability to mentor artist on best practices and workflows.
- Help to set quality and efficiency standards within the department, and to identify, assess, and manage art risks on a project level.
- Excellent communication, presentation, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate a willingness to give and receive feedback, collaborate with others to share techniques, ideas, and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Task driven, self-motivated, and proactive.
We’d love it if you have…
- Ability to observe, research, and analyze a variety of subject matters (i.e., history, architecture, construction, and how things are made).
- Motion Graphics knowledge / After Effects knowledge.

- Online Portfolio (with a focus in realistic environmental concept art and demonstrated proficiency in traditional art skills, digital-painting, and 3D software )
