The compensation manager is responsible for managing the compensation functions for Gearbox Entertainment. The Compensation Manager plans, develops, and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop compensation strategies and direct the design, implementation and communication of all employee, management and executive compensation plans/policies for all compensation programs
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction of all company compensation programs including annual salary planning, merit/increases process, salary structures, variable pay and other incentive programs to ensure alignment to company goals, initiatives and budget
  • Manages compensation functions including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated compensation initiatives
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective, fair, and consistent with compensation trends and Gearbox internal objectives
  • Provides advice to leadership on pay decisions, compensation policy interpretations, and job evaluations
  • Ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive, fair and conform to current compensation strategy
  • Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity and other compensation studies
  • Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting compensation data
  • Leads the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure Gearbox compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations throughout the United States.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • Lead continuous global compensation benchmarks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive responsibility in developing employee compensation plans
  • Certified Compensation Professional certificate desirable
  • At least three years of experience managing subordinates.
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation programs
  • Advanced knowledge of all federal, multi-state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation
  • Financial ability to identify and implement compensation and rewards programs
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency and technical aptitude
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
