Community Manager

General Description:

Firaxis Games, creator of the acclaimed Sid Meier’s Civilization and XCOM franchises and home of legendary game designer Sid Meier, is looking to hire a Community Manager to help us stay close to the best fans in gaming. The Community Manager helps the studio and 2K Games coordinate and post information to our communities, listen to community feedback, and find better ways to share information with fans of our games. The Community Manager acts as an advocate for our fans and works with our publisher to excite fans’ enthusiasm.

Responsibilities Include:

• Help set and implement social media and fan community campaigns that align with the goals and strategies of brand and marketing.
• Respond to comments and queries in a timely and positive manner on social media and in fan communities, where appropriate.
• Monitor and report on community sentiment and feedback, both in qualitative terms and using quantitative methods where applicable.
• Assist the development team by helping message design decisions and priorities in a way that players will appreciate.
• Stay aware of opportunities that develop in social media and community platforms

Essential Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent in communications or related domain.
• 3+ years working in a product development or brand marketing team.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• A passion for Firaxis’ games.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience interpreting audience engagement analytics and using these to guide communication strategy.
• Familiarity with video game production development as part of team.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop.
• Experience in promoting a video game title or other product as part of a communications campaign.
