POSITION SUMMARY
BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America is searching for a Community Manager to represent and promote our brands to communities of game enthusiasts, press, the mass audience and at events. The person we are looking for has expert knowledge of the gaming industry, deep knowledge of our core Ips (especially Gundam), and an expert on social channels, their trends and best practices. This person creates content, engages with community and maintains conversations around our online titles with the goal of improving customer interaction and engagement while driving new users to our products. The candidate works regularly with internal and external teams to strategize and execute opportunities for greater community outreach and marketing promotions. The Community Manager must have a passion for all types of video games, speaking to an audience about gaming and be a savvy gamer.
Flexible, Remote and Work From Home options are available for this position until approximately April 2022. Afterwards we expect all employee's to join us at our new offices in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute strategic communication plans, including, but not limited to: regularly updating social media and video sharing sites with time-relevant content, messaging and assets, capturing and gathering assets without additional assistance
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and external development teams on upcoming updates, generating content for website and social posts, email newsletters, marketing materials, social media, etc…
- Seek opportunities to negotiate and implement co-promotions that grow and engage new, potentially overlapping communities
- Act as a brand ambassador for BANDAI NAMCO to our communities, both online via social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., and offline at live events, trade shows, tournaments, press interviews, etc.
- Establish credibility and relationships with fans, press, influencers, and other community managers to help extend the reach of our voice.
- Serve as a liaison to the playing community, providing them with key updates, engaging and guiding community conversations.
- Speak with the community’s voice and serve as a representative of the playing community, collating feedback, compiling data, and presenting reports on sentiment, actionable items, etc.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve any ongoing issues with the community while collecting feedback for future updates, content and patches.
- Monitor and measure the success of community engagement with an eye for critical, actionable reporting. Provide actionable analysis based on findings.
- Work with production teams to better inform gameplay findings, such as determining why users are dropping, struggling, or failing to complete in-game objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience
- Proven experience working on successful, creative, and innovative community and social media campaigns
- Ability to analyze data from community and social media channels and propose meaningful key learnings and action items with ability to quickly pivot when required
- Extensive knowledge and passion for the video game industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong presentation skills
- Creative writing chops. The ability to create consistent compelling, concise content that interests users and engages with the community
- Demonstratable experience of embodying the role of the “team player” – this role requires working collaboratively with internal and external partners, daily
- The ability to clearly and effectively communicate information based on the platform and target audience
- Extensive knowledge and passion for video games and Anime
- Knowledge and understanding of Gundam properties, not limited to games but including figures, anime, etc
- An eye for quality and the ability to capture, create and manage basic supporting assets, such as screenshots
- Ability and willingness to travel to support live events periodically throughout the calendar year, such as PAX, E3, etc.
DESIRED/NICE TO HAVE
- Photo editing/manipulation skills (Adobe Photoshop or similar)
- Video capture and editing skills (Adobe Premiere or similar)
- Familiarity with CMS tools (Drupal, Wordpress, etc)
- Appreciation and understanding of memes
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
