Community Lead, EU

The Discord Community Team is on a mission to build the world's greatest community of communities. Whether that's surprising and delighting through our programs, or supporting the admins who are creating welcoming communities on Discord, we're motivated to give people the power to create belonging in their lives.

We’re expanding in scope and building our team to reach new magical heights. We're lookin' for someone to lead Discord’s community strategy for Europe, which is in it’s very early stages. Using your knowledge of the different cultures, languages, and community norms, you’ll build out how Community can support and accelerate our efforts across Europe, working with other marketing teams, while always staying true to our unique brand.

As the Community Lead, EU, you’ll support the local communities already established and nurturing new ones. You'll participate in educating, engaging, and exciting the European Discord community at scale and talk directly with members of our international community to gain first hand knowledge. You’ll refinine and scale our international community playbook . The insights derived from your relationships and experiments will help accelerate our growth in Europe and across the world. You'll directly report to the Senior Manager of Community, and work cross functionally both internally and with external agencies.

What you'll be doing

• Gain a deep understanding and specialized market knowledge to understand user and admin pain points, competitors, and market opportunity
• Iterate, innovate, and scale the community playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans
• Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize and improve all our work
• Identify the best verticals to seed new communities and increase supply in existing communities
• Manage agencies and contractors across many different regions
• Build strategies, analyze data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives in specific geos, starting in France and expanding from there
• Be a public face with our local admins to build trust and drive engagement
• Work cross-functionally with Community, Comms, Social, Content, Talent, Product Marketing, Safety, and BD

What you should have

• 4+ years of professional experience in community marketing, program management, account management, or other relevant community management experience
• 2+ years in growing community internationally
• Experience creating and managing owned and operated marketing channels
• Experience tracking project deliverables
• Experience obtaining and analyzing established goals
• Experience with the Discord platform and brand
• Proficient in multiple languages, such as French, German, Spanish, and English

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with operational platforms, such as Looker, Sendgrid, and Hubspot
• Experience working with a community marketing team
• Understanding of Discord and it's mission to create belonging
