As a Community Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for creating and executing on a vision to help improve the player experience and increase customer retention for current and upcoming products from the AppLovin family of mobile game studios. As part of the Development Services group, the Community Engagement team plays a key role in the collection of player feedback and sentiment, the sharing of player issues with our production teams, and the creation of content that fosters greater player enjoyment of our games. The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned advocate for the player with a passion for gaming and who has a proven record of building beneficial relationships with gamer communities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic plans and executional tactics designed to engage the player community for a given product based on the details of that game’s target audience and feature set
- Ensure player sentiment is effectively gathered, synthesized, prioritized, and communicated back to our development teams with the proper context and detail
- Work with external vendor teams dedicated to moderating community spaces to ensure alignment on player communications and to aggregate feedback collected internally
- Partner with game teams to develop an action plan in response to feedback that balances player advocacy and company performance objectives for the product
- Work closely with game design to understand the details of new features/events/content and partner with content creation resources to ensure effective communication to players
- Understand the community ecosystem for a given game, and implement tactics to drive interaction and conversation across various touch-points including social media, Discord, Reddit, and other relevant online channels
- Develop and execute against a multi-platform content strategy with the intent of entertaining and informing players and extending their time spent with our properties
- Identify, evaluate, and report performance KPIs with a strong understanding of which measurements align with business goals
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a community-focused role in a game industry environment (expertise with mid-core mobile games a plus)
- Expert-level familiarity and experience communicating with platforms and tools used in the modern game community ecosystem, including major social platforms, Reddit, Discord, YouTube, and other platform/genre-specific forums
- Experience with tools to schedule, publish, and analyze performance results for content on social platforms
- The ability to develop a community content plan, maintain a content calendar, and experience deploying written, visual, and video/streaming content assets across a variety of platforms
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak the language of both gamers and developers and experience translating between the two
- Strong writing skills and the ability to generate social posts, community announcements, microcopy, and other public-facing written content
- Experience working with contemporary communication productivity tools and apps including Google Docs/G-Suite, Slack, and JIRA
