Who you are
You are the ultimate cheerleader for our studio: primary ambassador of our incredible culture, our talented team and Ubisoft. You will plan, direct and execute communications initiatives that increase awareness and enhance our employer brand with internal and external audiences. You have the talent to tailor these messages across the board of prospective job applicants, Ubisoft partners, media, government officials and industry partners. You understand the importance of having a strong team and will act as the mentor developing young talent into future communications experts. You can manage media relations, get a website built in a day, and develop a social media strategy—all while spinning the plates of content creation, product promotion and executing internal and external events.
What you’ll do
- Work with the Managing Director to help our studio rise above the crowd of employers in the video game industry
- Develop strategies for internal and external communication that support our unique studio culture
- Create a strategy to build internal awareness within Ubisoft of our studio’s new technologies
- Innovate new methods of communication that positively impact studio growth
- Build a strong external corporate brand based on creativity, innovation and technology
- Manage the communications team’s activities in the development of impactful social media and web content
- Drive the production of content—including graphics, photos and videos—to support communication activities
- Work closely with production and art teams to identify and execute on content opportunities
- Lead a full media relations strategy designed to raise the profile of the Winnipeg Studio
- Create analytics reports to track success, develop recommendations and best practices for future content and campaigns
- Monitor trends in content marketing, social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
- Manage the events coordinator to execute all studio events with creativity and excellence
- Manage sponsorship requests and partnership opportunities for the studio
- Act as the conduit between communications teams in other Ubisoft studios and our studio
What you bring

- Superior writing skills with the ability to customize content for targeted audiences
- Leadership and mentorship experience to develop your team
- You have a Degree or Diploma in communications, public relations, marketing or equivalent experience or training
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in communications, preferably with a focus on external communications
- Experience with managing budgets on a project-by-project basis
- Results-driven approach to and understanding of content creation and engagement for web and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Experience in the video games, entertainment, technology and/or creative industries is an asset
- Graphic design, video content creation, and photography experience and interest is an asset
- Bilingualism in French is an asset, but is not required
