What you’ll do
Epic seeks a Communications Lead for its Social Platform products, including Houseparty and the Fortnite social app PartyHub. Social at Epic is about empowering users to share virtual experiences with their friends and loved-ones.
As the Communications Lead for Social products, you will lead our public and media relations functions. You’ll work with stakeholders across Epic Games to craft ideas and insights that drive conversations with journalists, thought leaders, influencers, customers, and your coworkers.This is the perfect opportunity if you are enthusiastic about bringing empathy to online interactions and sharing that enthusiasm with others.
In this role, you will
- Establish and maintain relationships with journalists and other influencers, including technology, games, and culture-focused press
- Coordinate across the organization on strategic communications and reactive messaging for social products
- Craft thought-leadership for social initiatives, and work closely with executives and senior stakeholders
- Develop and maintain processes for measuring performance of communications programs
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably a mix of in-house and agency
- Someone who always has their finger on the pulse of today’s trends, and is shaping the trends of tomorrow
- Someone keyed into the community of reporters and thought leaders, and enjoy developing new relationships
- Someone with an affinity for Social and Games, and their power to bring people together
- Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do
Remaining knowledge, skills, and abilities needed
- A proactive problem solver, with strong instincts for when to escalate issues
- Communication skills, written and verbal, are stellar
