Communications Director

Overview

Splitgate is a “Halo meets Portal" viral video game in Beta that was officially released in August by 1047 Games. We quickly became the #1 trending game on PlayStation, XBOX, and Steam before we had to limit how many users could play. In our first 6 days, we passed 1M downloads, and hit 2M within the first two weeks. We’re now at 14M+ downloads and growing.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Communications Director plays a key role within 1047 Games’ growing team. This role will drive Splitgate evangelists across public relations, influencers, and celebrities in concert with owned channel and paid efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Own the Splitgate messaging platform as it evolves through its lifecycle. Create consumer focused communications that will serve as the consistent base to build effective copy across owned and paid channels.
• Directly manage public relations for Splitgate, painting narratives that drives results across gaming and cultural press.
• Create and scale an effective partner program for influencers and content creators, offering incentives and resources that maximizes their impact.
• Be a program facing personality for Splitgate content partners, including talent relations and the ability to conduct program-wide communications to amplify key beats.
• Drive celebrity outreach. Have a finger on the pulse of Splitgate’s wider cultural relevance and be looking for opportunities to take it to the next level.
• Build and manage a slate of local and international agencies, driving impact in an ever-growing number of key markets.
• Plan and execute Splitgate PR presence at any owned or partner events.
• Own studio communications, helping to build the profile of 1047 Games and its leadership to enhance recruitment efforts.

Qualifications:

• 7-10 years of experience in video game PR with at least some of that experience on the client side.
• Experience with influencer/creator programs is a must.
• Direct experience managing budgets and negotiating with agency partners.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• A self-starter who can work independently or with minor supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to spot problems before they arise, and constantly looking for ways to improve processes.
