Commercial Counsel

AppLovin is looking for a highly-qualified Commercial Counsel to join our growing Legal Team. This new position will assist with a variety of commercial legal matters and will work closely with teams throughout the company. You will have wide-ranging responsibilities, with ownership of projects that make an immediate impact on a fast-growing, dynamic business. We are headquartered in Palo Alto, California, but this role is eligible for alternative worksites and/or work from home.

What you’ll be doing:

• Structure, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and serve as a point of contact for inbound and outbound commercial contracting issues
• Counsel internal clients regarding legal issues, including identifying, managing, and communicating risks and opportunities in commercial transactions
• Work closely with other members of the legal team to identify and resolve legal and regulatory issues
• Develop and implement efficiencies in the commercial contracts processes
• Develop and revise contract templates as necessary, based on changes in the product offerings, organization, and/or applicable law
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to ensure agreements are consistent with internal policies and processes

Your background and who you are:

• Must have a JD or equivalent and admission to and active status in at least one state bar (and eligible to register for California or an applicable state bar’s in-house counsel program)
• 5+ years of combined experience practicing as a technology transactions or commercial attorney within a law firm and technology company
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment
• Must be proactive and a team player with a great sense of humor
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to synthesize complex legal issues to essential elements for clients throughout the organization with different goals and responsibilities
• Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at many different levels throughout the company and in different geographic regions (varying time zones, English language skills, etc.)

Bonus points:

• IP or data privacy experience
• International legal experience
• Experience in adtech and/or mobile gaming
• Proficiency with Ironclad
