What We Need:
We are seeking a skilled, self-motivated Marketing Analyst to work in the global NBA 2K In-game Ad Platform team, based in Dublin. In this role, you will ensure users are consistently presented with the right content in the right places at the right time to make the in-game experience as fun and rewarding as it can possibly be. To achieve this mission, you will be responsible for analyzing ad platform activity and trends across all in-game advertising surfaces and ad types, developing and managing performance reporting across a range of key dimensions, and informing platform strategy by consistently providing relevant and impactful optimization recommendations. What You Will Do:
- Serve as the expert on in-game ad platform performance, constantly tracking, analyzing and reporting on trends across surfaces, ad types, user segments and campaigns
- Communicate ongoing performance trends, strategic insights and optimization recommendations to the platform team business lead and designer
- Own ad platform dashboards and reporting, inform weekly performance commentary, and deliver monthly performance updates and case studies for stakeholder & commercial discussions
- Inform ad platform experimentation strategy, planning, execution by highlighting data-driven analysis and recommendations in a timely manner ahead of each programming sprint
- Support customer segmentation and audience strategy, partnering with Performance Marketing team to ensure creative and strategic alignment with out-of-game ad platform
- Work with Partnerships team to automate reporting for brand campaigns
- Partner with platform team business lead and regional/territory teams to align on local goals, local platform/ad performance, and offer/art/messaging/loc optimization opportunities
- Partner with the 2K Analytics team to develop and evolve dashboards, predictive models for estimating and benchmarking platform performance
- Partner with 2K Data Engineering to ensure telemetry and data pipelines meet team needs
Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit:
The ideal candidate is passionate about gaming and analytics-driven decision-making. She/he is methodical (but agile), objective- and hypothesis-driven, comfortable parsing large data sets (but experienced enough to know how much data is actually required and where in the data to look for each answer), proactive and rigorous in testing hypotheses, and eager to uncover actionable insights that help move the needle for 2K.
The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of video games and the industry to make sense of the data, extract an interesting and actionable learning, communicate his/her findings and influence the business decisions. Being a solution oriented, creative problem solver and self-starter with passion and enthusiasm to drive the results for meaningful changes are also going to be very critical for this role.
- B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences (or in another quantitative discipline) – MBA is a plus
- 2+ years of experience in analytics with large, complex and multi-dimensional data sets with some management experience
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of working across all levels of the organization – having the information is one thing, you must be able to disseminate and educate
- Expert in relational databases, SQL (experience with Vertica and/or Redshift is a big plus) or experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig or other NoSQL DBs
- Experience with working with financial and behavioral/engagement data
- Strong Excel (incl. VBA macros, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and PowerPoint skill required
- Experience with data visualization tools, Tableau preferred
- Video games industry experience is strongly preferred
