About Offworld Industries:

Offworld Industries Ltd. (OWI) is the independent studio behind the successful military first person shooter game, “Squad”. OWI was formed in 2014 by more than 15 developers who had worked together on the well known Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2. The founding purpose of the team was to bring a standalone successor of this acclaimed mod to market and build a game development studio and a livelihood from that foundation.

Fast forward to 2022, OWI has nearly 120 employees and is rapidly growing. We have been expanding the studio into both serving as a publisher supporting mods, as well as a technology provider building a framework for character based multiplayer games based in UE4.

We are looking for a talented Co-Op Technical Audio Designer for our current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games. About the role:

As a contributing and valued team member, you will collaborate with designers and the audio team to develop high quality sounds and audio features for our large-scale multiplayer games.

As a designer at a growing independent studio you will make a key impact on the creation of our games and have your voice heard throughout development.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with implementation of Audio Cues and Audio Events in Engine
  • Assist in creating prototypes to demonstrate to Engineers and the wider team the intent of new audio features and systems
  • Fix Audio Related bugs that are reported from the QA Team
  • Writing technical audio documentation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve audio quality by playing the game, providing both creative and technical feedback
  • Supplement the Audio Design team with sound creation
  • Assisting in managing audio project: data organization, naming conventions, loudness standards, sound class hierarchy and loading

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of UE4 Blueprinting for prototyping and interfacing with Game Design and Engineering
  • Working knowledge of audio editing tools such as Audition, Pro Tools
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to provide and accept feedback in a professional manner

Terms:

  • 40 hours per week, salaried position
  • Length is two co-op terms (8 months)
  • Hybrid working options available
