Cloud Engineer - Kubernetes Infrastructure

The Cloud Engineer - Kubernetes Infrastructure works in the DevOps team at Wave. They employ their knowledge of container-native deployments and Kubernetes to facilitate the development, testing, deployment, reliability, monitoring, and improvement of Wave products and services. They will help the DevOps team improve the Wave developer experience, ensure fast and reliable deployments, encourage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, encourage best practices for monitoring and observability, and push ownership of the software lifecycle to the developers.
This is a direct hire, full time opportunity. We are not interested in C2C workers at this time.
Responsibilities
- Work with product teams to design, deploy, and improve mission-critical Kubernetes infrastructure that powers Wave’s live events and rebroadcasts
- Help codify our infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, and other tools
- Automate the continuous integration and deployment of our infrastructure with TeamCity and other tools
- Improve the internal and external security of our infrastructure
- Perform code reviews
- Actively engage in knowledge-sharing with Wave’s development teams and encourage a strong DevOps environment
- Develop monitoring and alerting for Kubernetes clusters though Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana Cloud
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience working with Kubernetes in a production environment
- 3+ years of experience working with IaC systems such as Terraform
- 3+ years experience working with Linux backend server technologies such as Ubuntu Centos
- 3+ years experience working with CI/CD systems such as TeamCity or Jenkins
- 3+ years experience working with an observability platform such as Grafana, ElasticStack, or Datadog
- Demonstrable IaC (infrastructure as code) skills and understands the philosophy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritize strategic infrastructure efforts
- Works well in an agile environment (specifically Scrum)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of music
- Experience working with a high-bandwidth client/server product such as live streaming video or a massively multiplayer game
- Experience with AWS
- Knowledge or one or more of the following: NodeJS, Typescript, C#, Python
- Knowledge of any of the following: Redis, NATS, Postgres
- Music Lover, passion for live events

Salary Range: $80,000 - $190,000**
**Salaries at Wave are based on a few factors including a candidate's location (to account for any cost of living differences), their experience level and their performance during the interview process. On top of a cash salary we also include company equity in the form of stock options with every full time offer as well as other benefits (insurance, 401k, unlimited PTO, laptop/desktop and other IT equipment as needed, subsidized monthly home internet, etc). Salary ranges at Wave are determined based on the job requirements, experience level and market data attained from compensation surveys.
