Position Purpose
The Cinematics Artist will work on a new interactive TV show based off a famous IP. They will use all of the game creation techniques in Unity to create a dramatic interactive 3D experience. Specifically, they will deal with any non-interactive cut-scenes.
Essential J ob Functions
- Create stunning cut-scenes that support projects in a timely manner
- Ability to create both 2D and 3D assets
- Broad understanding of basic m odelling, t extures , and current techniques
- Strong understanding of the Unreal Engine
- Understand what the Art Lead requires for the project , then research, storyboard/work from storyboards , and implement it in the project’s engine
Qualifications/Skills Sets
- Experience with Maya or equivalent modeling programs
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or equivalent 2D programs
- Experience with U nity is required and specifically understanding of the cinematic creation in Unity
- Ability to create 3D and 2D elements for use in a 3D engine or marketing materials
- Ability to transform traditional art concepts into 3D assets
- Ability to review complex suggestions/problems and resolve in an effective manner
- Strong understanding of modeling and texturing techniques
- Works closely with the art team to develop new techniques, and ability to decide a priority art skill to focus on
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to keep a clear and consistent schedule
- Inter-department work with Engineering, Design , and Production as needed
- Understanding of bug fixing and investigation
- Experience with television/film a big plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PBR lighting and materials
- Experience with Substance Designer, Substance Painter or equivalent programs
- Experience with ZBrush or equivalent high poly modeling programs
Demonstrated Ability To
- Make visually impactful moments that show a strong understanding of both real and cartoo ny visuals
- Work effectively with other artists and engineers to achieve project goals
- Solve problems to the benefit of the project/team
Education & Experience Required
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, or recent graduate from an Art or Graphics Design school
Materials Required
Candidate should provide portfolio of art that they have created or directed and a resume detailing the projects/studios that they have been a part of. An art test may be required.
