Cinematic Artist

Creative Assembly are looking for a Cinematic Artist to join our Total War cinematics team. This role is based in our studio in the heart of Sussex, in the UK.
This is fantastic opportunity to be a key member of our cinematics team, creating amazing trailers and cutscenes for Total War. You’ll be working closely with brand and dev teams and be responsible for taking assets from storyboard to final renders.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the cinematics team, you’ll be expected to work both independently or as a group on larger projects.
On a day to day basis you will:
- Create assets of varying sizes, from screenshots to trailers

- Use our bespoke in-engine cinematic toolset to lay out scenes, sequence character animations, animate cameras and set up lighting and VFX
- Render and edit cinematic footage
- Work closely with the cinematic animators to help plan and execute shoots in our motion capture studio
- Work with our tools programmers to help develop features and functionality
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- Flair and passion for video editing: scene layout, composition and shot timing
- Flair and passion for video editing: scene layout, composition and shot timing
- Demonstrable understanding of principles of storytelling and narrative
- Demonstrable animation skills for 3d cinematic cameras
- Experience with Adobe Premiere
- Experience with Adobe Premiere
- Excellent written English
Desirable
- Photoshop and After Effects
- Photoshop and After Effects
- Understand the basic principles of animation
- Love of games (especially Total War)
- Knowledge of Maya
- Experience modding or with game engines e.g. Unreal Engine
- Filming, directing and shoot-planning for traditional video
- Other film related experience e.g. lighting, colour grading
- Experience creating motion graphics
- Formal art training
