Chief of Staff to President of Global Mobile Growth & China

This Chief of Staff role will be the close partner to the President, Global mobile growth & China, with primary responsibilities of supporting the critical relationship management in China, driving strategic initiatives and projects in the China office as defined, and also helping on the implementations of any prioritized items / agenda / events as sponsored by the President, Global mobile growth & China.
He/she in this role will also be one of the key thought partners to the China leadership team - but more than that, he / she shall not only focus on providing strategic recommendations, but also help the implementations and follow up actions by partnering with the respective teams in the office.
He/she will report directly to the President, Global Mobile Growth & China, meanwhile also work closely with all the relevant leadership (e.g China Leadership team). He/she will lead a very lean team (1+1) but aiming to make a bigger impact by building trust and influence.
This role will be primarily based in the Riot China office (Shanghai / Shenzhen) with the necessary travels to the LAX and other offices.
Responsibilities:
- Thought partner to the President, and to the entire China Leadership team - providing insightful recommendation for relevant strategic topics.
- Support the prioritized items / topics defined by the President of Global Mobile Growth and China - mostly from the logistics and implementation side (including internal and external presentation, meeting notes, next step follow through, etc.)
- Support the relationship building with critical external partners (e.g. annual gathering with Tencent) and manage the daily relationship on the front line
- Work with the President to manage the commercial negotiations with critical partners (e.g. contract negotiation with Tencent)
- Help organize / support important business meetings and events related to critical matters (e.g. working with GR team to prepare China Joy event)
- Support other relevant partnerships, events and items as defined by the President
Required Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of the gaming business landscape and nuance of relationships esp. in China. Passionate about Gaming and intrinsically motivated to work for Riot Games.
- Rich experience (at least 8 years) on partnership management and building. Strong track record of developing long term partnership with external partners. Capable of managing complex partnerships in a trust building way.
- Strong track record on negotiation management.
- Strong collaboration mentality and communication skills. Being able to work and drive changes with influence and trust building. Being strategic but also humble enough to bring all working teams together from bottom up.
- Strong stakeholder management skills. Being comfortable working directly with company leadership (e.g. LC2) to drive critical initiatives.
- Fluent in both Chinese and English
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of our critical partners (like Tencent)
- Riot experience and strong track record on both strategy building AND implementation driving (e.g. PMO)
