Job Title: Chief of Staff

PlayStation Network(PSN) is one of the global top digital platforms for online interactive entertainment. PSN Global Service Operations(GSO) is responsible for the stability of PlayStation Network, supervising the platform and providing operations support to company and game industry-wide partners.
As a Chief of Staff for GSO, you’ll be responsible for management for upcoming major growth initiatives to expand the GSO footprint across PSN and the gaming industry. To be successful, you’ll have deep experience in complex project or program management, leading all aspects of planning and execution of large-scale technical integrations with minimal direction. The COS is encouraged to maintain an unbridled appetite for GSO’s exponential growth, keeping a laser focus on the strategic vision for GSO.
Additionally, the Chief of Staff provides leadership, in partnership with the Sr Director, to elevate and improve employee growth and happiness within the department. The COS will continuously act as a leader with a vision to strategize with and hold senior leadership accountable for making measurable improvements while prioritizing GSO team member well-being. This individual will be responsible for creating and completing a comprehensive improvement strategy for new, existing, and future employees alike.
Finally, the Chief of Staff will directly manage a small team with a varied abilities.
In the future, there may be a requirement for international business trips, but this occurs only after it is regarded as safe to do so.
Responsibilities
- Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution in partnership with senior leadership and department heads
- Collaborate with Sr Director in departmental decision-making, budget management, program management, hiring, and initiative implementations
- Bring focus and organization to long term GSO departmental visions and goals, prioritizing them and creating practical plans to move things forward
- Design, build and manage tools and critical metrics required to both assess and improve GSO as an organization - integrating existing metrics and new ones to include employee satisfaction
- Build and maintain master GSO calendar spanning departmental events, launches, strategic integrations, birthdays, holidays, celebrations, anniversaries
- Seek out and vet future potential pivotal initiatives on behalf of GSO, finding opportunities for GSO to expand its offering
- Review, design, and complete improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
- Take ownership of communication on behalf of GSO leadership - spearhead the creation and dissemination of departmental information to team members including all hands
- Build and develop relationships with all GSO employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations
- Maintain strong trust relationships with the companywide/industry-wide customers - obtain the latest information relevant to GSO’s growth.
- Lead small team, acting as day-to-day manager and mentor
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of professional experience and team management experience.
- 10 years of project or program management experience in large multicultural, global organizations
- Background in executive-level communication and management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading a multi-tiered team.
- Experience in an IT operations organization
- Experience providing career coaching
- Good knowledge and experience in Gaming industry
- Advanced degree in relative area, PhD, MS in information science, computer science, operations management, or MBA.
