Chief Technology Officer

We are actively looking to hire an experienced and talented Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our global team at Xsolla.
The chosen candidate will have led a team in the fintech industry and have BaaS experience as well as experience leading a large (400+) team consisting of internal, distributed, and outsourced engineers . This candidate will be in charge of overseeing several projects/products simultaneously.

The CTO role offers a balance of significant operational responsibility and strategic opportunity to help drive technology throughout our organization and partner offerings. The CTO will have the bearing and gravitas to lead the entire technical team at a time of great opportunity and growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement our technology strategy, working closely with our executive leadership team to ensure alignment with overall business goals
- Oversee all aspects of technology development and implementation, including software engineering, infrastructure, and technical operations
- Manage a widely distributed and partly outsourced team of highly skilled software engineers (200+ currently, growing to 1000) in our global development offices, ensuring that they have the resources and support needed to deliver top-quality products on time and within budget
- Lead continuous improvement of our service delivery organization
- Manage development teams to best-in-class SLAs across the Americas, EU and Asia
- Distribute development talent to new products/projects as they are acquired by the company
- Own the 3-5 year technology roadmap for the product organization
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in fintech and payments industries and work to ensure that our products remain at the forefront of our industry
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, design, and marketing, to ensure that our technology strategy aligns with overall business goals
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that our technology infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with technology vendors as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of progressive experience leading engineering teams, 5+ years of experience in Fintech/Payments Processing Industry (PPI) (Previous experience as CTO is a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Experience managing the implementation of extremely different products, often simultaneously
- Possess highly successful portfolio management skills; managing products spread over multiple value horizons
- Experience leading live 24/7 online SaaS/BaaS services and the complexities of such systems, such as uptime and security (updated regularly and in real time)
- Deep understanding of fintech and payments backend/live services
- Well- versed in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), payment protocols, and regulations
- Functional knowledge of architecture and distributed systems in cloud computing, CI/CD, ITIL, containerization, virtualization, and databases
- Experience managing large, cross-functional teams of software engineers, infrastructure engineers, and technical operations specialists across multiple time zones in APAC, EU and the Americas (400+ in size)
- Excellent verbal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organization and time-management skills, a proactive approach and ability to multi-task multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to stay within budget and best allocate resources, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
- Experience with M&As and how to best merge new technologies and assign teams
- Knowledge of latest technological advances and best practices that could benefit the company and our partners
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including SAFe, agile as well as familiarity with soak testing
A plus if:
- Previous work experience at an organization with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Understanding of the video game industry and related technology, including game engines, multiplayer architecture, and platform-specific development
